Mandates
- To oversee policy formulation related to animal health program
- To mobilize resources and guide investment for animal health development
- To oversee HR performance, institutional and organization development
- To take lead in facilitating approval for animal health and veterinary service standards
Function of Division Management
- Prepare development plans, budgets, policies and strategies
- Prepare annual targets meeting National Key Results (NKRs)
- Prepare HR performance, capacity development and deployment plan
- Prepare policy briefs and impact assessment of animal health sector
- Provide strategic advice to the department for animal health and service
- development
- Reviews, analyze and formulate relevant strategies for animal health and veterinary
- service self-reliance
- Conduct economic analysis and impact assessment animal health service
- Ensure availability of veterinary drugs, vaccines and equipment
- Promote collaboration with relevant national and international counterparts
Roles and Responsibilities of Clinical
Services Section
- Assist the division heads in policy, planning, strategy building
- Prepare annual targets, and strategy meeting Sector Key Results (SKRs)
- Prepare project proposals for fund mobilization for animal curative veterinary services
- Develop and oversee national standards and guidelines for drugs, vaccines and clinical services
- Provide strategic advice to the division on clinical services and animal welfare
- Coordinate national and international seminars and workshop
- Make technical analysis and advise innovations on clinical services
- Monitor progress and produce periodic technical and financial report.
Roles and Responsibilities of Disease
Control Section
- Assist the division heads in policy, planning, strategy building (disease prevention
- and control, diagnostic services and veterinary public health)
- Prepare annual targets, and strategy meeting Sector Key Results (SKRs)
- Prepare project proposals for fund mobilization in preventive veterinary service
- Develop comprehensive animal health information and monitoring plan
- Develop and oversee national standards and guidelines on preventive veterinary and diagnostic service
- Make technical analysis and advise innovation on disease prevention and disease control
- Monitor progress and produce periodic technical and financial report. 8. Coordinate national and international seminars and workshop
